In August, Bristol City Council announced that they will be increasing the price of their pest control services to local residents.
Fees are set to increase by a whopping 86% so that the council’s service can break even and be run as a commercial business moving forward. The changes will also affect those on benefits who currently receive the service for free. This will no longer be the case however and even these residents will now incur a fee.
While the council says that they aim to improve their pest control service as a result, they still won’t be offering a service to deal with flies. Speaking about this decision, they commented:
“The reason for not providing this service is due to the difficulty in locating where the flies are coming from, making it almost impossible to provide any treatment at the source.”
