It is however, a legal requirement that you manage pest control. This means that you\u2019re able to identify and deal with potential risks before they turn into a major problem or contaminate food<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you manage pest control?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are a number of procedures you can put in place to ensure your business is managing pest control effectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regular and thorough cleaning and disinfection.<\/strong> It\u2019s a good idea to have a cleaning schedule for your premises and equipment to ensure nothing gets missed<br \/>\n<strong>Manage waste<\/strong>. Pests love rubbish because it makes for a quick and easy food source.<br \/>\nAvoid storing waste inside. Keep any rubbish outside, in a bin with a secure<br \/>\nlid and if possible, away from the building<br \/>\n<strong>Train employees.<\/strong> Ensure employees understand effective pest control. This can be<br \/>\nanything from not leaving food on their desks to being able to identify the signs of<br \/>\ninfestation and where to report a potential outbreak<br \/>\n<strong>Maintain external areas.<\/strong> We\u2019re often quick to protect the inside of a premises but<br \/>\nmaintaining outdoor areas is just as important. Discarded rubbish can attract pests, leaves and logs provide great shelter and overhanging branches allow easy access into buildings.
