The problem with this however is that it can make it difficult to know you have a problem.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aside from physically seeing a rat or mouse, below we\u2019ve listed some of the most common signs of a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prokill.co.uk\/blogrodents\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rodent infestation.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Droppings. This is especially likely to be in places where they may sit still for a period of time because they\u2019re eating or drinking. Have a good look in drawers and cupboards where you store food and under sinks or around pipes where water might drip down<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You see a nest or nesting material. Rodents will use anything such as shredded paper, fabric, cardboard or dried plant matter to make their nests. You may notice these items scattered around your home if they\u2019ve been dropped on the way back to where they\u2019re setting up their base<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rodents will often leave greasy dirt stains on surfaces they\u2019ve been in contact with. You may also notice them on skirting boards or at the bottom of doors where they\u2019ve brushed up against<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Food packaging has been chewed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wooden furniture has been gnawed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holes have been chewed through walls and floors. Rats in particular like to gnaw at things but this may have also been done in an attempt to gain entry into your home.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s a strange stale smell you can\u2019t explain. House mice in particular have a characteristic damp, musky odour<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While rodents are more likely to be inside than outside at this time of year, also have a quick look around your property for burrows<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can hear scratching noises coming from behind walls or underneath floorboards \u2013 especially at night\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re noticing the signs of a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prokill.co.uk\/blogrodents\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rodent infestation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but haven\u2019t seen one, have a look in areas of your property where they\u2019re most likely to be.
