Pest birds can cause considerable damage to property and pose a very real health risk. Droppings or ‘Guano’ cause slip hazards, respiratory disorders and disease transfer whilst nest sites in and around residential areas can cause much distress and disturbance.

We have a huge range of options to tackle your bird control issues depending on the pest species and the nature and location of the problem. Bird spikes are a simple and cost effective solution for ledges, sills and fences but are not suitable for larger surface areas. Netting is a total exclusion option but should always be installed using a tensioned wire system which can be complex. Acoustic systems can be exceptionally effective at scaring birds away together with visual deterrents. We also stock repellents, taste aversions and many other innovative solutions.

Feral Pigeons derive from Rock Doves and are considered a pest mainly due to the damage caused by their droppings and build up of nesting material. Nests are made in secluded dry areas whilst they are happy to roost and perch on gutters, ledges and ridges. Most products in our range are suitable for Pigeons although consideration must be given to location and activity.

Seagulls are, considered by many as, set to become a greater pest threat than rats. The most common Gull is the Herring Gull. Despite the RSPB placing this bird on the ‘Red List’ due to a supposed reduction in numbers, the population has in fact exploded inland due landfill sites and a change in domestic waste collection. Gulls can live up to 35 years and will attempt to nest at the exact same site year on year. Unlike most birds, they nest in open areas such as roofs causing many related problems. Aside from aggressive attacks while nesting, gutters and drainage channels can become blocked with material causing catastrophic damage from flooding. More specialist products are available to combat Gulls and again consideration needs to be given location and activity.

Other pest birds include Sparrows, Starlings, Geese and Crows. Many of our range can used to combat these species dependant on the nature of the problem. All products are humane and are not designed to harm the birds but merely act as a deterrent or exclusion.
